First big injury

Well it had to happen sometime. I am blaming some of this on Keith, because he did mention a couple nights ago that we were really lucky that Kinley hadn't had any major illness or problems. So of course that had to change.

Yesterday morning Kinley, being her normal, curious, climbing self decided that she was going to climb in her pack-n-play that is for her baby dolls. That wasn't really the problem. The problem was she was holding her laptop computer that isn't soft and tried to get out of the pack-n-play, tripped and subsequently hit her mouth somewhere between the laptop and the floor.

She cut her lower lip on both sides. We managed to get the bleeding stopped and calm enough to watch sesame street. Then when I went to change her and her clothes about an hour later I realized she was missing part of her front tooth! So she now hows a chip on one of her teeth. I called the doctor and dentist and both of them told me there wasn't much to do for her or the tooth. We have to watch it and hope it doesn't die and turn brown!

Kinley is fine, Mommy and Daddy are getting there! I will try to get a picture and post later! Needless to say Kinley has a hard time getting out of arms reach right now. Hopefully this will be the only injury for awhile!!!

What did you say?

So we are definitely at the point with Kinley that we have to watch what we say around her. I will be the first to admit that I am probably the one where she learned da*&it from but we are getting better trying to make sure we say appropriate things when she is around. However, many times she says stuff that just makes us laugh.

So this morning after our usual family morning breakfast Keith went upstairs to get dressed. Usually when he is coming back down she starts either saying "Daddy, no work" or "bye-bye Daddy". This morning she gave him a different send off. As he walked in the kitchen to tell her good bye she looked up from her oatmeal and said "bye babe, drive carefully"! As you can imagine we broke out in laughter which made her repeat it several times! It was a great way to start the morning!

Abby's Princess Party

This afternoon we had our first "official Princess Party"! It was for my old roommate Jodie's daughter's 4th birthday! It seems that we have been out of town every year for Abby's other parties so we were not going to miss this one this year. It was perfect that Kinley had received a Cinderella Princess outfit for her birthday from Elie that was just right for this occasion!

Keith survived the princess crown making event, Kinley walking around in high heels and almost breaking her neck and was spotted even tasting the princess cake. Kinley managed to get the crown on the princess in "pin the crown on the princess" but barely survived the princess crown pinata! She got very frightened when the bigger kids hit the pinata and candy went flying! However, she then realized she could eat the candy and it was much better. Here are a few pictures from the party!

Another girl is on the way!

Well today we found out that we were having another baby girl. We are all very excited. I think Keith and I had convinced ourselves we were having a boy because we both wanted another girl so bad that we were sure our luck with bring us a boy. However, we were all elated when the ultrasound tech announced "little girl parts"!

So after the u/s and we found out we were having a healthy baby girl Mom and I headed straight to the mall looking for big girl room bedding fit for Princess #1 Kinley! We were lucky and found just what we were looking for at Pottery Barn Kids!

We can=me home just before Kinley was to take a nap. We showed her the new bedding and she loved it. She actually refused to give one of the shams back and is taking a nap with it now. Now only if she and I can be patient and wait until occupant number one (Courtney) is out of the room so we can paint and decorate it for the Princess. For some reason I don't think Court wants to sleep with fairy princess bedding for the next 6 weeks.

So another princess in the house for Keith! At least Derby is a boy!

Daddy's little girl!

We, being Kinley and me, are pretty lucky with Keith's travel schedule. Since we live in a town with a major airport in town many of Keith's trips are day trips. He travels about once or twice a week, but he is usually home before Kinley goes to sleep. So last night when he wasn't it was a little difficult.

As I was getting her ready to put her to bed and she realized Daddy wasn't home the water works began. She was asking for Daddy and was not satisfied by a phone call to Daddy. So trying to figure out what to do to calm her down enough to get her to bed I asked her if she wanted Daddy's shirt to sleep with last night. That was the trick. I went to Keith's closest got a t-shirt and she cuddled up with it and went straight to sleep. She is definitely Daddy's little girl!

This is your fault Michele....

OK...Well as we all can see I have now started a blog. The title of this post can show you whom I blame for this occurrence. I will say she did not pressure me or guilt me into this, but made me realize that by creating a blog for her family not only was she providing me with humor each day but a gift for her children for years to come. She is an amazing wife, friend and mother and I am lucky to have her and her family in our lives. I try to be as good of a mother as she is to her two lucky children!

Having said this, I would like to also put out a disclaimer that if you follow Michele's blog this blog will not be as well written. Dad, I will try my best to use correct grammar - I promise. Mom, I will try to keep it updated every couple days. Larry, (because I know you will read it too) I will try to keep pictures updated as well. However, I can't promise that I will be as good of a blogger as Michele, but I will try my best. We all know how well skype went over in our house!

So here we go...The Roberts Family Adventures. Hopefully, this will keep me documenting all the precious things that our little Kinley does each day and the newest adventures of our new addition arriving in December. I hope you all enjoy this, but honestly this blog is for Keith, Kinley and me so we can one day look back and laugh at all the little things in life that happened that were forgotten about over the years. I hope you all enjoy our family as much as we do and if you don't, remember this is all Michele's fault!
